Did You Know ...

• The first and apparently only edition of a small cookbook, La cuisinière assiégée, ou, L'art de vivre en temps de siége(Paris 1871), is in the Cookery Collection. It has recipes for cooking horse, dog, rat, and other animals when Paris was under siege in 1871.
• The Manuscript Collection has the papers of several MSU music composition faculty members, including H. Owen Reed and Jere Hutcheson.
• The first appearance of Rockwell Kent illustrations in book form was a series of drawings in Architectonics: The Tales of Tom Thumtack, Architect (1914), an amusing collection of architectural stories by his friend Frederick Squires.
