Did You Know ...

• The Natural History holdings in Special Collections includes a copy of Ulisse Aldrovandi's, De animalibus insectis (Frankfurt, 1623), the earliest known full length work on insects.
• The Michigan Writers Series has hosted over 70 writers since its beginning in 1999.
• An eighteenth century English cookery manuscript that is signed "Anne Western 1716" on the cover provides food and medicinal recipes known and used in England 300 years ago. From the Manuscript Collection.
• A copy of the oldest known printed cookbook, Caelii Apitii...de re culinaria libri decem, (Basel, 1541), was a gift of Mary Ross Reynolds and is now held by SpC among the Cookery Materials.
